GOLEM stands for tradition in the best sense. Not only in terms of production, but also the raw materials consist of classic materials: clay and minerals. From these, ceramic moldings for the preservation of historical monuments are produced and individual design elements for modern architecture as well as contemporary design are developed.
With the stoneware floor tiles, historical motifs of the 19th and 20th centuries are revived, but also new, own designs are implemented.
The production of inlaid tiles follows an extremely demanding process and requires a high degree of skill. After more than 70 hours in the kiln, the stoneware floor tiles are then extremely robust, versatile and durable for generations: the older they are, the more beautiful they become. That is our understanding of sustainability.
GOLEM GbR was founded in 1991 in Sieversdorf, Brandenburg, by Tomas Grzimek and Ulrich Schumann. In the early years, it mainly produced construction elements such as bricks or terracottas for the restoration of historic buildings. Since 2003, GOLEM Kunst- und Baukeramik GmbH has also been mass-producing wall and floor tiles from the Wilhelminian and Art Nouveau eras for redesign in the private and public sectors.
