Free from harmful substances
We achieved our goal of developing a unique, soft and sustainable leather that can be used without hesitation, especially for people allergic to chrome, sensitive people and even babies/toddlers, by extracting ingredients from rhubarb root.
Many years of research and careful and time-consuming post-processing made it possible for us to find a way to do without substances that are difficult to degrade during the tanning and dyeing of hides and to develop a leather that, in contrast to conventional types of leather, is very well biodegradable and can be returned to the natural cycle without hesitation during the decay process.
Suitable for allergy sufferers
Due to the complete absence of chrome salts and heavy metals and due to the low-pollutant production, our rhubarb leather is breathable, skin-friendly and skin-compatible. In 2011, rhubarb leather was certified with the ECARF Seal of Quality by the European Centre for Allergy Research Foundation.
