holzius wall elements consist of solid wood planks arranged vertically in a row, which are joined together to form a multi-layered upright block using the functional principles of "combing" and "ridging". The wooden planks are positioned in the natural growth direction of the tree, just like in a forest. As wood does not expand axially, i.e. in the direction of the fibers, our solid wood wall elements are settlement-free. The wooden planks are joined together (combed) with a multiple groove and comb joint. The wooden planks are joined together in layers with mechanically pressed-in, dovetail-shaped solid wood ridge battens. As the ridge battens have a lower moisture content than the planks, they swell after being pressed in and thus hold the construction together.
Area of application: interior walls, exterior walls
Possible thicknesses: from 120 to 360 mm
Types of wood: spruce or fir, on request also moon wood or own wood
Visible layers: spruce, pine, Swiss stone pine, silver fir or hardwoods, in planed quality. Rough-sawn or brushed surfaces are also possible
holzius ceiling and roof elements
For the holzius ceiling and roof elements, the wooden beams are combed together with a multiple groove and comb connection. A hole is drilled crosswise into the solid wood beam layer and a thread is milled. The beams are then joined together with beech wood screws to form a dimensionally stable solid wood element.
Areas of application: Basement ceiling, storey ceiling, mezzanine ceiling, roof elements
Possible thicknesses: from 120 to 240 mm
Wood species: spruce, other wood species, moon wood or own wood on request
Wood-concrete composite ceiling from holzius
For ceilings with a span of over 6 m, holzius wood-concrete composite ceilings are the ideal solution. These can cover increased vibration requirements and enable spans of up to 8.5 m. This is particularly popular for multi-storey office, administration and residential buildings.
