using the example of the education and meeting center of the SOS Children's Village Embassy in Berlin - Moabit.
Ludloff Ludloff's architecture is not created by formal settings, but is developed from the perceiving subject. Spaces are experienced as sequences, they are determined less by geometries than by light and color, haptics and acoustics, sequences of atmospheres are created. Here, building creates places that allow for interpretations of their own, but at the same time consciously link to cultural experiences, images and associations. This creates situations that challenge attention and sensitize to new possibilities.
The projects are part of a research-based practice and contribute to the discourse on a new image politics with which building as a social practice can succeed.
The new SOS Education and Meeting Center is an open house that addresses the social space of Moabit with site-specific offerings. The house works far beyond its local charisma as a communication platform to integrate the public, professional public and politics without thresholds and to sensitize for social topics.
The house is an ambassador where people meet in recognition and at eye level. At the same time, the house sees itself as a shelter in which education and training find their place and which helps to become strong in order to participate in society in a formative way.
