Experiences with exposed concrete
Two houses with single-shell fair-faced concrete facades will be presented
The studio of Katharina Grosse in Lehrter Str. and a small house in Bad Saarow at Scharmützelsee. Both houses have interior insulation and load-bearing exterior walls made of exposed concrete.
Detailed information about the concrete:
Roof: concrete C30/37 XC4, XF1, WU-concrete
Exterior wall: Concrete C30/37 XC4, XF1
Cement: Blast-furnace cement CEM III/B 32.5 N-LH (normal initial strength, low hydration heat
-WU-roof construction according to WU-guideline (edition November 2003 + amendment March 2006)
-sloped roof surfaces (26° long leg or 37° short leg) and profiling of the outer side with a boarding of planed battens
-On the longitudinal sides of the building, a recessed drainage profile in concrete as a drainage channel with 2 roof inlets each.
-connections at skylight upstand with inserted joint plate
-Installation parts are stainless steel pipe sleeves and SML pipes with welded sealing flange
-Concrete component connections (construction joint) with roughened joint
-Concrete cover on outer sides at least 4cm
-anchor holes in the roof closed on both sides with glued-in fiber cement cone
-Exposed concrete class SB3 according to the Code of Practice for Exposed Concrete (Deutscher Beton- und Bau-technik-Verein e.V.)
