Concrete reflects light
BlingCrete™ combines the positive properties of concrete (fire safety, strength, construction methodology) with the property of retroreflection. Retroreflective surfaces precisely reflect incident light (solar radiation or artificial light) back in the direction of the light source.
The BlingCrete™ surface is activated by light depending on the position of the surface, the light source and the recipient. At a given moment, the reflection effect can be perceived. The concrete changes from a passive to an active state. The properties of BlingCrete™ open up a wide range of design possibilities in architecture, interior design, product design and traffic safety-related areas. Potential applications include, for example, the permanent structural safety-related marking of hazardous areas (steps, curbs, platform edges, tunnel passages) as well as the design of structurally integrated guidance systems and novel surface components (facade, floor, ceiling).
