Sustainable façade refurbishment.
Refurbishment solution VHF with thermal bridge-free Schöck Isolink®.
In many cases, ageing external thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS) no longer meet energy requirements. The energy and resource-saving renovation solution is the ventilated rainscreen cladding (VHF). In combination with rock wool insulation and constructive fire protection measures, the Schöck Isolink® thermal bridge-free façade fixing has received DIBt type approval (Z-10.3-909). With this type of façade renovation, a sustainable and low-maintenance VHF can be realized. The approval offers planners simple and fast implementation of their refurbishment projects.
Why is this type of façade refurbishment so sustainable and economical?
During refurbishment, the VCW is simply installed in front of the ETICS. The old external thermal insulation composite system does not have to be dismantled or disposed of. In this way, the façade is energy-efficiently upgraded for building classes 1-5. The old ETICS can continue to be used and be included in the recalculation of the U-value of the wall.
Fastening without thermal bridges
Schöck Isolink® secures the gap between the façade cladding and the building shell and transfers all loads acting on the façade cladding. The key to thermal bridge-free fastening with Isolink® lies in the Combar® material used. Due to the extremely low thermal conductivity of the glass fiber composite material, the point heat losses are so low that they can be neglected when determining the U-value of the exterior wall in accordance with DIN 6946. Compared to aluminum wall brackets, Isolink® has almost 300 times lower thermal conductivity. This means that around 50 percent of the insulation material can be saved for the same U-value. The slimmer wall structure with the same building dimensions also means that more usable space is available in the building.
