While the façade of the Wintergarten borders directly on Kurfürstendamm and is experienced from close up as part of the street space, the façades located in the traffic lane on the lower level of the former freight station are mainly perceived from a distance. They are therefore designed to be seen from a distance and attempt to respond not only to the post-bar development but also to the adjacent traffic spaces. They follow a horizontal structure with a robust base, high-quality cladding in the middle section and a luminous band in the upper section that serves as both a skylight and advertising space. The sculptural aluminum cladding of the facades unifies the building volumes of the specialist center and drive-in, while at the same time structuring them through the scale of the convex and concave elements. The facade reflects the light and changes color and appearance through different incidences of light. It also has a sound-insulating function.
