ACRYSMART® glass changes its transmittance for light and solar radiation depending on the temperature. On hot summer days, the acrylic glass changes from a transparent state (OFF) to a milky white state (ON).
By backscattering sunlight, the solar energy input is reduced in the ON state and the risk of overheating is
reduced. At lower temperatures
the plastic glass becomes transparent again (OFF). Natural daylight is used efficiently.
ACRYSMART® is an intelligent masterbatch that can be used to produce acrylic sheets. These react according to temperature, becoming milky when warm and transparent again at cooler temperatures. Neither electrical energy nor mechanical control technology is required for this.
