"The industrial production of all components can only be truly rationalized in the fabrication process, and the work on the building site will then have an exclusively assembly character and can be limited to an undreamt-of short time." Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, 1924
Mies van der Rohe's idea of industrial building, the reduction of time and material, has been a reality at the ALHO Raumfabrik for 50 years. ALHO buildings are produced in modern production halls, independent of weather conditions, as ready-to-assemble room modules. Certified serial factory production ensures a higher standard of quality than is offered by conventional construction methods.
Like large Lego bricks, the three-dimensional room modules prefabricated in the room factory are neatly and quietly assembled into a building on site within a very short time. This innovative and sustainable way of building reduces construction time by 70% - and the impact of dirt and noise to a minimum.
In the ALHO modular construction method, almost everything can be realized that conventional construction methods also offer. Buildings from the space factory convince with appealing architecture that is indistinguishable from conventionally constructed buildings, unless the architect specifically plays out the possibilities of the modular construction method - e.g. with freely projecting balconies and loggias or staggered arrangement of the modules. More than 1000 references in 50 years testify to diversity and individuality.
