56 modules, consisting of closed, open and covered spaces, are combined like oversized building blocks to form the kindergarten. The repetition of an irregular trapezoidal module allows a rationalized construction method and enables different spatial situations. The tension between the geometric irregularity of the module and the repetition together with the moving roof surface give the building a sculptural effect and clear identity.
Each group area consists of five modules with precise functional relationships, each with a different grouping. The spaces flow into each other and allow for great flexibility. The circulation space is reduced to the minimum.
The building was constructed from prefabricated elements made of wood and meets the requirements of the Swiss energy standard Minergie-P, which is equivalent to the German passive house standard.
